Our Project Focus: ChatGPT and Cybersecurity Training

After collaboration with Dr. Xie, our project sponsor, our team decided the next step of our project would be to move forward with an analysis of OpenAI's ChatGPT tool. For Milestone 2, we will analyze ChatGPT's ability to be used as an educational tool.

Our project focus will be to assess ChatGPT and how well it can teach users of different knowledge levels what they need to know about cybersecurity.

Our team met with our project sponsor on March 25th, 2024 to discuss our progression and how to move forward with

Milestone 3.

Milestone 3 will focus on the following items:​

  • How can ChatGPT be used for cybersecurity training by itself?​

  • How can we make ChatGPT as a cybersecurity training tool?​

  • We will use ChatGPT beyond simple prompts and questions to achieve this.​

  • We will consider that our team has been tasked with a feasibility study of how our 'Company' can use ChatGPT as a cybersecurity tool.​

  • Once we have a solid plan of how our company can use ChatGPT, we will make a new cybersecurity training tool using ChatGPT.​

  • We will then compare this plan with existing cybersecurity training tools and discuss the pros and cons of using ChatGPT rather than these other tools.
